The team at Andrew Grey Funeral Directors welcomed more than 55 people to a Macmillan Coffee Morning at The Burn Inn, Houghton le Spring, on 18 September 2026, raising an impressive £750 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Organised by team members Gillian, Joanne, Andrew, Ben, Neil, Ross and Simon, the event brought local people together to enjoy coffee, cakes and a raffle while supporting a charity that has touched the lives of many clients and families in the community.
Having hosted a smaller event last year, the team were inspired to make this year’s Coffee Morning bigger and better. Their efforts paid off, with a fantastic turnout from local residents who helped raise both awareness and vital funds for Macmillan.
The team said the most rewarding part was seeing so many people come through the doors, buy raffle tickets and enjoy a great morning together. The Coffee Morning also provided an opportunity to give something back to a charity that means a great deal to many of the families they support.
